IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 11 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art bust of the horned giant who leads a monstrous pirate crew in a famous pirate anime, cut at the upper stomach and set on a post above a round pedestal. He faces front with his head pushed forward and down in a snarl: brows driven down hard over deep-set eyes, veins across the forehead, a broad nose and a wide grimace showing both rows of clenched teeth, with a short spiky goatee. Two huge ridged horns grow from his temples, run out to the sides and curve up into tall points. A wide mane of long, flat strands with squared, folded ends is swept back off his forehead and splays out past his shoulders, and two long ribbon-like moustache strands sweep out from his upper lip, one over his shoulder and one down across his chest. He is bare-chested, with a scale tattoo engraved over one side of the chest and shoulder and a ragged scar across his stomach. A cape of overlapping pointed scales, ribbed like feathers, covers his back and one shoulder. The pedestal is a stepped round plinth with angular buttress blocks around the rim. The studio's renders are unpainted gray.

What's in the kit

  • 11 resin pieces in total.
  • Bust, 9 pieces: the torso in two halves, the head, the mane in two halves, two horns and the two moustache strands.
  • Cape, 1 piece: the scaled cape over his back and shoulder.
  • Pedestal, 1 piece: the round plinth with its post.
  • Studio size: 253 mm (9.96 in) tall, 193 mm (7.60 in) wide and 189 mm (7.44 in) deep (from Tanuki Figures' store page for this bust).

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The torso comes in two heavy halves. Glue and pin them first, then pin the torso onto the pedestal post.
  • The horns are long and curve out from the temples. Pin both into the head.
  • The two moustache strands are long, flat and very thin, and hang free from the lip. Pin them if you can and fit them last.
  • The mane's two halves and the cape carry hundreds of thin, squared strand ends and scale edges; take care removing supports.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.

Shipping and returns

  • Free shipping to addresses in the 50 US states, Washington, DC, and military APO/FPO addresses.
  • International or US territory address? You can use a US package forwarding service. My responsibility ends when the package is delivered to the forwarder’s US address. Anything after that is between you and the forwarding service.
  • 30-day free returns. If the kit isn't for you, send it back within 30 days of delivery, unassembled and unsanded, and I'll send you a prepaid return label.
