IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 16 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art statue of the pink-haired young fighter from a popular dark-fantasy anime, caught mid-leap. He launches up off a broken rock on his left foot with his right knee drawn up to his waist, leaning forward with his head dropped and turned to the viewer, teeth gritted. His right fist is held in front of his chest, wrapped in glowing blue flames with forked tongues, and his left arm is flung up above his head with the hand open. His spiky pink hair fans out in layered spikes over a short dark undercut. He wears a high-collared dark navy school uniform with a basket-weave texture, a single gold button below a thick red knit hood bunched around his neck, wide sleeves turned back over red ribbed cuffs, wide-legged trousers and red lace-up shoes with treaded soles. The base is a crater of broken mauve rock on a rough pedestal, with three curved bone blades rising behind him and two clouds of cartoon smoke bursting up on either side.

What's in the kit

  • 16 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 9 pieces: torso in the uniform jacket, head, legs, two shoes, two arms, the open left hand and the flame-wrapped right fist.
  • Base, 7 pieces: the rock crater in two sections, three bone blades and two smoke clouds.
  • Studio size: 305 mm (12.01 in) tall, 169 mm (6.65 in) wide and 216 mm (8.50 in) deep (from Tanuki Figures' notes file).
  • Scale: about 1:6 (estimated). The sculptor doesn't publish a scale, so this is my estimate of the closest standard scale based on the model's measurements. It may not look in scale next to other 1:6 figures, and scale can differ from one creator to another.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • He stands on one shoe on the rock with the whole leaping figure above it. Pin the planted shoe to the legs and into the base.
  • The raised arm and open hand reach out from the shoulder. Pin the shoulder join.
  • The two rock sections overlap rather than splitting down the middle. Dry-fit them before gluing so the shoe lands in the right place.
  • Glazes over the flame fist and the two smoke clouds give them a glow. The flame tongues, the bone-blade tips and the spread fingers are thin.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.

Shipping and returns

  • Free shipping to addresses in the 50 US states, Washington, DC, and military APO/FPO addresses.
  • International or US territory address? You can use a US package forwarding service. My responsibility ends when the package is delivered to the forwarder’s US address. Anything after that is between you and the forwarding service.
  • 30-day free returns. If the kit isn't for you, send it back within 30 days of delivery, unassembled and unsanded, and I'll send you a prepaid return label.
