IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 14 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art statue of the cheerful swordswoman with long pink braids tipped in lime green, from a hugely popular sword-fighting anime. She balances on one foot on a mossy pond base, the other knee drawn up and the foot kicked back, and looks back over her shoulder with a small smile. Both hands grip the sword's pink handle above her head, and the thin ribbon-like blade unrolls from it in four loose loops around her body and legs. She wears a dark fitted uniform jacket with gold buttons, a white belt with a square buckle, a short pleated skirt and a white long coat whose sleeves and hem flare out behind her. Ribbed lime-green thigh-high stockings and pink-strapped sandals finish the outfit. The base is a round dark plinth with a raised rim holding dark water, a white splash around her foot, bright moss strips and a tall stack of mossy rocks.

What's in the kit

  • 14 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 7 pieces: head with the hair and braids, torso, two arms, two legs and the skirt.
  • Sword, 3 pieces: the ribbon blade in three sections.
  • Base, 4 pieces: the round plinth and three scene pieces, including the tall rock stack.
  • Tallest single piece: the standing leg, 153.5 mm (6.04 in) in the sculptor's file. The finished figure stands taller once the torso, head and base are added. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height, so I don't list one.
  • Base: the round plinth is 120.3 mm (4.74 in) across in the sculptor's file.
  • Scale: about 1:6 (estimated). The sculptor doesn't publish a scale, so this is my estimate of the closest standard scale based on the model's measurements. It may not look in scale next to other 1:6 figures, and scale can differ from one creator to another.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The blade is three thin ribbon sections that join end to end in mid-air around the figure. It wraps the standing calf and passes over the raised knee, so dry-fit the whole spiral before any glue.
  • Each blade seam sits on a narrow, visible strip with a colored edge, so fill and sand it carefully.
  • She stands on one sandal. Pin the foot into the base and the standing leg into the body.
  • The blade ribbons, braid tips and coat hem are thin and fragile.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
