IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 22 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art statue of the tired-eyed defense lawyer turned fighter from a hit dark-fantasy anime about curses. He stands upright on a broken patch of courtroom floor, weight even, his left hand in his trouser pocket. He wears an open dark brown suit jacket with a woven texture, a small gold lapel pin and a few dark scuffs, an off-white shirt open at the collar with no tie, a brown belt, finely checked trousers and black shoes. His dark spiky hair is swept up and back and his heavy-lidded eyes look off to the side. In his right hand he holds either a long glowing sword with a small cross mark at the hilt or a wooden gavel with a cross carved into its head; both come in the kit. Both arm poses are in the box too, so you can build either: the arm lowered at his side, and raised across his chest with the index finger pointing. The hooded judge spirit is also included, to stand behind him or leave off: a drape of dark cloth spread wide like wings around a pale masked face with stitched-shut eyes, with a brass balance pan hanging on chains from each side. The base is a six-sided plinth of pale cracked stone splashed with red, with large sculpted lettering on the front, a broken wooden balustrade on one side, a stack of cracked stone blocks on the other and a sealed document on the floor at his feet. This listing is the full figure with the judge spirit and the courtroom base, 22 pieces. The bust is sold as a separate listing.

What's in the kit

  • 22 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 5 pieces: head, legs, two feet and the left arm.
  • Arm poses, 8 pieces: for the arm lowered at his side, a torso, right arm, glowing sword and gavel; for the arm raised across the chest with the finger pointing, a second torso, right arm, sword and gavel cut to match.
  • Base, 6 pieces: the six-sided base in two halves, the floor document, a plug and both balustrades (one made to carry the judge spirit, one for display without it).
  • Judge spirit, 3 pieces: the hooded cloak with the masked face, and the two hanging balance pans.
  • Studio size, with the judge spirit: 349.9 mm (13.78 in) tall, 287.2 mm (11.31 in) wide and 205.4 mm (8.09 in) deep (from the studio's scale sheet).
  • Six-sided base: 216.1 × 188.8 mm (8.51 × 7.43 in) across, from the sculptor's single-piece file of the same base.
  • Built without the judge spirit, the figure has no published height, so I don't list one.
  • Scale: about 1:6 (estimated). The sculptor doesn't publish a scale, so this is my estimate of the closest standard scale based on the model's measurements. It may not look in scale next to other 1:6 figures, and scale can differ from one creator to another.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • Build the base first. The two halves join front to back with a seam across the floor, so glue and fill it before the figure goes on.
  • The judge spirit's cloak is a large, thin, cupped sheet that stands behind him on its own balustrade; pin it. The balance pans hang on thin chains, the most fragile parts of the kit.
  • The glowing sword is long and thin; a glaze and gloss coat give it the glow. In the raised-arm pose the pointing finger is a thin, freestanding part.
  • Both balustrades are in the kit and they are not interchangeable: one is made to carry the judge spirit, the other is for display without it.
  • Both arm poses are in the kit. Each pose has its own torso, right arm, sword and gavel, so choose the pose before you glue the upper body.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
