IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 9 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the green, grumpy holiday thief from a classic children's Christmas story, caught sneaking off in a stolen Santa suit. He leans forward on two curled elf shoes with his knees bent, his oversized furry head swung round with a sly, one-sided smirk under heavy-lidded yellow eyes and arched dark green eyebrows. One long-fingered hand dangles a glossy red bauble by its gold cap, and the other is tucked behind his back with the fingers spread. He wears a red Santa coat with white fur trim at the collar, cuffs and hem, a black belt with a gold buckle, and a Santa hat with a white fur band and a long, kinked tail ending in a pom-pom. Below the coat his legs are bare green fur down to white fur trim and red shoes with curled toes. The base is a plain round black plinth with a stepped edge.

What's in the kit

  • 9 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 8 pieces: the furry head, the Santa hat, the coat with both arms, the legs, two hands (one holding the bauble) and two curled shoes.
  • Base, 1 piece: the round black plinth.
  • Studio size: 154 mm (6.06 in) tall, 130 mm (5.12 in) wide and 81 mm (3.19 in) deep (from Tanuki Figures' printing and scale guide).

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: intermediate

  • The head is the heaviest part and sits forward of the neck on a figure that already leans forward. Pin it at the fur collar.
  • Glue the legs to the base first so both shoe soles sit flat, then add the coat and head.
  • Most joins land under the white fur trim at the collar, cuffs, hem and ankles, so the seams hide on a color change.
  • The splayed fingers, the curled shoe toes and the kinked hat tail with its pom-pom are thin.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.

Shipping and returns

  • Free shipping to addresses in the 50 US states, Washington, DC, and military APO/FPO addresses.
  • International or US territory address? You can use a US package forwarding service. My responsibility ends when the package is delivered to the forwarder’s US address. Anything after that is between you and the forwarding service.
  • 30-day free returns. If the kit isn't for you, send it back within 30 days of delivery, unassembled and unsanded, and I'll send you a prepaid return label.
