IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 9 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the short-tempered clawed hero from American comics, in his classic yellow-and-blue costume, dropped into a low fighting crouch with three steel claws out of each fist. His right arm hangs out to the side with the claws almost level, and his left reaches forward with the claws curving down past his knee. The yellow cowl has black mask panels that sweep up into two tall curved fins, with blank white eye lenses above a snarl of clenched, bared teeth. The sleeveless yellow suit has black pointed stripes down the front and flanks, glossy blue shoulder pads, bare upper arms, flared blue-violet gloves, a red belt with a black buckle over blue-violet trunks, and blue-violet boots with black flares rising up the thighs. He stands on a heap of cracked gray slabs and rubble over rust-brown mud, with ribbed rebar rods poking out, two bolts and a round metal disc half buried at the back.

What's in the kit

  • 9 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 7 pieces: the head with the finned cowl, the torso with the shoulder pads, the hips and thighs, two arms with three claws on each fist, and two boots.
  • Base, 2 pieces: the rubble heap in two halves, with the rebar and the half-buried disc sculpted in.
  • Tallest single piece: the head with its cowl fins, 75.5 mm (2.97 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, so I don't list one.
  • Rubble base, in two halves: 86.8 × 112.8 mm (3.42 × 4.44 in) and 70.8 × 105.1 mm (2.79 × 4.14 in) across in the sculptor's files.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: intermediate

  • The six claws are sculpted onto the arms and taper to points. Support them along their length.
  • The cowl fins, the thin strap on the left boot and the rebar rods are thin parts.
  • The figure balances on two separate boots on uneven rock. Pin each boot into the base and into the legs, and dry-fit before gluing.
  • The two base halves meet along a seam through the rubble that needs filling where it crosses the smooth mud.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
