IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 79 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art statue of the princess from a famous fantasy adventure game series, caught partway through her change into a dragon. She stands on a mound of broken rock shards with one hand raised to cup the jaw of a long white dragon whose body loops once around her waist and runs down behind her legs to the base. Branching cyan crystal antlers grow from her hairline under a gold diadem, her forearms and lower legs have turned to dark scaled skin ending in claws, and small crystal spines push out of her shoulders. She wears a strapless white gown with a green front panel carrying a raised gold pattern, a green underskirt, a beaded collar necklace and gold bead bracelets, and her long wavy blonde hair streams out behind her. The dragon has a long pale snout, a large gold-ringed eye, a shaggy gold mane, cyan crystal antlers and crystal thorns along its back. The base is a round plinth piled with brown rock shards and patches of moss.

What's in the kit

  • 79 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 33 pieces: head, diadem, two main hair pieces, two small hair locks, two crystal antlers, an ear fin, torso, the gown in three pieces, the front panel and its two ribbons, two arms, two hands, two upper legs, two calves, two feet, the necklace and six bracelets.
  • Dragon, 34 pieces: head, neck, body, tail, mane, two crystal antlers, a small horn piece, twelve back-ridge sections and fourteen crystal thorns.
  • Base, 12 pieces: the round plinth, the rubble ground layer, a small ground piece and nine rock-shard clusters.
  • Tallest single piece: the front gown panel, 135.5 mm (5.33 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height, so I don't list one.
  • Round plinth: 159.3 × 152.3 mm (6.27 × 6.00 in) across in the sculptor's file.
  • Scale: about 1:6 (estimated). The sculptor doesn't publish a scale, so this is my estimate of the closest standard scale based on the model's measurements. It may not look in scale next to other 1:6 figures, and scale can differ from one creator to another.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • At 79 parts this is a long build. Lay the twelve back-ridge sections and fourteen crystal thorns out in order along the dragon before you glue any of them.
  • The dragon coils once around her waist. Dry-fit the coil against her before fixing either figure to the rocks, and pin the dragon's neck and head, which hang out over her shoulder.
  • The six bracelets, the diadem, the hair locks and the crystal thorns are tiny. The antlers on both figures are thin and branching.
  • The rock shards stack up from the plinth in nine clusters. Build the rock pile first, then set the figure's feet and the dragon's tail on it.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
