IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 11 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi scene of the little winged king of the round, white pom-pom creatures from a classic role-playing game series, with two of his loyal subjects. The king floats above a swirl of clouds, leaning forward with a gold staff topped by a bird's head held out in one paw, his feet dangling and small bat wings spread behind him. He has cat-like ears, a round red nose, closed eyes drawn as two curved lines, long curled whiskers and a thick ruff of fur under his chin, and a red crown with gold bands carries a gold star and an orange pom-pom on a stalk. On the cloud mound below him, an archer in a brown feathered cap draws a bow with an arrow nocked, and a knight in a bronze helmet raises a sword with a round wooden shield on his other arm; each has his own pom-pom and wings. Tall cloud plumes with four-pointed stars rise behind the king, teal crystals sit in the lower clouds, and a gold ribbon with a star at the front wraps around the base, its two ends curling up at the back.

What's in the kit

  • 11 resin pieces in total.
  • King, 3 pieces: head with ears, whiskers and nose; body with the fur ruff, wings and feet; and the crown with its star and pom-pom.
  • Companions, 4 pieces: the archer's head and body with the bow, and the knight's head and body with the sword and shield.
  • Base, 3 pieces: the lower cloud mound with crystals, the tall cloud plumes, and the gold ribbon ring.
  • Accessories, 1 piece: the king's staff.
  • Studio size: 86 mm (3.39 in) tall, 55 × 66 mm (2.17 × 2.60 in) footprint (from the studio's scale sheet).

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: intermediate

  • Build the base first: the cloud mound, then the tall plumes, then the ribbon ring around the outside. The king hovers just above the highest cloud, so dry-fit him against the plumes before gluing.
  • The two companions are very small; their bodies are the smallest parts in the kit. Use tweezers and a gel glue.
  • Thin parts: the staff, the ribbon ring (an open ring), the bow and bowstring, the sword blade, the archer's feather and the pom-pom stalks.
  • The king's head carries a peg; the crown and pom-pom go on last.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
