IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design, plus the studio's photos of its own unpainted test prints. Your kit arrives as 4 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the mischievous masked imp from a classic fantasy adventure game. He balances on one foot on top of a splintered tree stump, his other knee hitched up high, playing a flute held sideways across his face. He has a carved wooden face with large round eyes, a short beaked snout with a rope tied across it, and a shaggy hat of overlapping straw tufts. He wears a ragged ruff, fringed gloves, a long tunic with a torn hem belted with a chain, patched trousers and pointed boots with strap wraps. Behind him a braided, thorny vine grows out of the grass and twists up to hold a giant heart-shaped mask with ten tapered spikes, two large ringed eyes, raised piping and wood grain over every surface; the back of the mask is an open, hollow cup. The base is a grassy mound on a round plinth with the broken stump and a sawn-off branch carved in a spiral. The two glowing lights floating beside him in the painted render are a render effect and are not part of the kit.

What's in the kit

  • 4 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 2 pieces: the head with its straw-tuft hat, and the body with the flute, tunic and boots.
  • Mask, 1 piece: the spiked heart-shaped mask with the upper part of the vine.
  • Base, 1 piece: the grassy plinth, the tree stump and the lower vine with its thorns.
  • Largest single piece: the mask with its vine, 117.0 × 127.3 mm (4.61 × 5.01 in) in the sculptor's file. The studio's size sheet doesn't give an assembled height I can confirm, so I don't list one.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: intermediate

  • The mask is the largest piece and hangs out over the figure on a single vine peg that seats into the vine stub on the base. Pin that joint.
  • He stands on one foot on a square peg in the stump top, and his head is heavier than his body. Dry-fit, then pin the foot.
  • The joins are keyed. Dry-fit all four pieces before gluing to see how the lower mask spikes sit over the hat.
  • Thin parts: the mask's spike tips, the vine loop and thorns, the flute and the hat tufts. The back of the mask is an open cup.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
