IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 7 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art bust of the laurel-crowned prince of the underworld from a popular action role-playing game. He stands square to the viewer with his head turned a little, a half smile at one corner of his mouth. His right hand holds his sword by the grip down at his side, so the broad blade, engraved with a row of glyphs, runs up behind his shoulders and out past the other side. The guard is a small skull with flame-like flourishes and the pommel is a faceted cone. His spiky hair sweeps up and back under a laurel wreath. His chest, shoulders and right arm are bare, with a wide chevron-edged band running from one shoulder across his chest, a woven, chain-textured wrap around the lower torso, a band on the upper arm and a strapped bracer on the forearm. On his left shoulder sits a pauldron of three stylized hound heads on a spiked collar. The bust stands on a short post over a round plinth with angular fins. The renders are unpainted gray.

What's in the kit

  • 7 resin pieces in total.
  • Bust, 6 pieces: the bare torso, the head with the laurel wreath, a short right-arm section, the right forearm and hand with the sword, the chevron band and woven wrap, and the three-headed hound pauldron.
  • Base, 1 piece: the round plinth with its post.
  • Studio size: 1:6 scale, 143 mm (5.63 in) tall, 149 mm (5.87 in) wide and 128 mm (5.04 in) deep (from Tanuki Figures' printing and scale guide).
  • Scale: 1:6 (from the studio). Scale isn't standardized, so figures of the same scale from different creators may not match exactly.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The sword is part of the right hand piece and runs across the back of the shoulders. It's the largest part in the kit; pin it at the wrist.
  • The pauldron is heavy for its size and sits on one shoulder. Pin it.
  • The blade edge and tip, the hair spikes and the flourishes on the guard are thin. Clip their supports slowly.
  • The glyphs on the blade are engraved, so a wash picks them out.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.

  • Free shipping to addresses in the 50 US states, Washington, DC, and military APO/FPO addresses.
  • International or US territory address? You can use a US package forwarding service. My responsibility ends when the package is delivered to the forwarder’s US address. Anything after that is between you and the forwarding service.
  • 30-day free returns. If the kit isn't for you, send it back within 30 days of delivery, unassembled and unsanded, and I'll send you a prepaid return label.
