IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 9 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art statue of the small, round, white mascot creature from a long-running fantasy role-playing game series, dressed as an explorer. It stands on top of a wooden treasure chest with its feet apart, one arm raised high in a wave and the other held out to the side with a yellow-orange feather. Its eyes are closed into happy curves above a big red ball nose and an open smile, and a red pompom bobs on a thin black stalk above its head. It has large cat-like ears with pink insides, a white curl of hair, and a yellow bandana with brown leopard spots knotted at one side. A tan leather satchel hangs across the body on a buckled strap, and a darker brown backpack with a rope drawstring is stuffed with rolled maps and a wooden map tube. The base is a round black plinth with a sandy top, grass and white flowers, and on it sit the iron-cornered chest with a red cloth and fringed emblem draped over it, a pink potion in a glass flask and a smaller second flask, a rolled scroll, scattered gold coins, a black iron lantern with a glowing pane, and two red-and-white spotted mushrooms.

What's in the kit

  • 9 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 3 pieces: the head with the bandana, ears and pompom antenna, the body with both arms, the satchel and the feather, and the backpack with its rolled maps.
  • Base, 6 pieces: the round grassy plinth, the treasure chest, the lantern, the rolled scroll and two potion flasks.
  • Studio size: 137 mm (5.39 in) tall, 83 mm (3.27 in) wide and 87 mm (3.43 in) deep (from Tanuki Figures' printing and scale guide).
  • Scale: 1:6 (from the studio). Scale isn't standardized, so figures of the same scale from different creators may not match exactly.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: intermediate

  • The figure stands on the chest and the chest sits on the plinth. Dry-fit the chest on the base first so the feet land where they should, then pin the feet into the lid.
  • The head joins the body on smooth white fur with no costume edge to hide it. Plan to fill and sand that seam.
  • The pompom stalk, the raised feather and the lantern's handle ring are thin. The smaller potion flask is tiny and easy to lose in the wash.
  • The lantern and the two potions are good candidates for clear or translucent resin if you want a glow.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.

Shipping and returns

  • Free shipping to addresses in the 50 US states, Washington, DC, and military APO/FPO addresses.
  • International or US territory address? You can use a US package forwarding service. My responsibility ends when the package is delivered to the forwarder’s US address. Anything after that is between you and the forwarding service.
  • 30-day free returns. If the kit isn't for you, send it back within 30 days of delivery, unassembled and unsanded, and I'll send you a prepaid return label.
